Quick Reminder – FortiOS 6.4 now End of Support
What’s Happening?
Support for Fortinet’s FortiOS 6.4 officially reached it’s End of Support (“EoS”) on 30 September 2024. Most devices, including the 60E and 60F devices, with an active support agreement, are compatible with and authorized for an upgrade to FortiOS 7.x. We are still seeing a number of Fortinet devices in production that still have FortiOS 6.4 (or older) installed and exposed to the Internet.
What Should I Do?
Reach out to your IT Support Team to determine if you have an affected device and, if so, if you have an active support agreement with Fortinet and, if so, if your device has been upgraded to FortiOS 7.x .
- If you do not have an active support agreement with Fortinet, you will need to purchase one before you can update your device. Please note that if your Fortinet support agreement has lapsed, Fortinet will back date it six months (so a 12 month support agreement will need to be renewed in six months, not 12).
- Once you have an active support agreement that’s been applied to your device, follow the upgrade path from your current FortiOS version to at least the newest stable FortiOS v7.2.x
- If you are a current Cyber Tech Cafe MyIT Customer, this does not impact you.
